The Kawai SX-210 is a polyphonic analog synthesizer made in Japan in 1983. It is one of the most underestimated analog synthesizers, and this for two main reasons:
The kawai-SX210 is rare, and was released in 1983, along with the Yamaha DX7 synthesizer. The DX7 announced the end of analog age and the early digital era.
The Kawai SX-210 is a eight voices polyphonic analog synthesizer with an oscillator and sub oscillator per voice. It can be a four voices polyphonic with two oscillators per voice; Or use it in monophonic mode with eight oscillators stacked!
Some of the functions:
Sub-oscillator, two analog filters, a high pass and a low pass filter. An LFO that can be applied simultaneously on the oscillators, filter or envelopes, and this with a different dosage if desired.
The Kawai SX-210 also has a glissando, a portamento. Two envelope settings, one for the filter eg and one for the VCA. 32 memory locations to store your own sounds.
A ENSEMBLE effect, subtle but beautiful.
The sound editing is done using a general wheel, and a button per function. It's very simple: no need to go into menus or submenus, we choose a parameter by clicking the appropriate button, and you turn the dial.
The analog "sound" from Kawai synths of this time is quite different from Sequential Roland, Korg ... What makes the SX-210 a machine with personality.
