Reference : 111965
The Ensoniq Vfx Sd is a digital synthesizer made in the USA in 1989. The VFX SD combines 3 types of synthesis:
- digital subtractive synthesis (also commonly called "virtual analog").
-Transwave synthesis ( "Transwave" is the Ensoniq name for the wavetable synthesis that you can find on rare instrument like the PPG Wave or Waldorf wave)
-Rom player synthesis based on acoustic instruments or synthesizers samples.
In total the Ensoniq VFX SD offers 141 waveforms. A channel can be composed by up to six waveforms. The Ensoniq VFX sd has many modulation sources, almost every parameter can be a modulation source or destination. You have two filters per channel. 3 envelopes per channel, a built-in multi-effect ... The Ensoniq VFX SD can hold up to 120 presets in its memory. The sounds can also be saved on diskettes, the Ensoniq Vfx SD having a floppy disk drive for its internal sequencer. The Ensoniq VFX SD keyboard is equipped with Aftertouch function and velocity response, a PitchBend Wheel, a modulation wheel and a live editing potentiometer. MIDI IN OUT THRU, four audio outputs including auxiliary speakers, a headphone output, two inputs for control pedals ... The three types of synthesis combined with the many modulations and modifiable parameters make the Ensoniq VFX SD a synthesizer as well capable to deliver unique electronic sounds as more classy sounds, all with a grain and punchy dynamics. Our opinion is that the VFX SD is the best digital synthesizer from Ensoniq. The Ensoniq VFX SD is particularly good for electronics pads and electronic brass sounds.
