The Linn Electronics LinnDrum is a drum machine manufactured in USA in 1982. This is the cult drum machine from the 80s, the one from titles of Prince, Peter Gabriel, Sting, the music of ''Beverly Hills Cop (Axel Foley), the famous music from ''Miami vice'', and many other titles of the 80s. In those years, the LinnDrum offered sounds much more realistic than its analog competitors because the LinnDrum uses samples of acoustic drums. The internal memory can store up to 56 patterns. Two recording mode are available, step mode, and real time mode. The real time mode is very practical and inspiring because it can corrects errors by re-placing the notes up to the 1/32 note ... It is therefore easy to create a nice beat with a LinnDrum. The LinnDrum is a professional drum machine, which means: separate outputs for each sound, a volume control for each sound, and a huge dynamic, it is far from a plug-in or other virtual instrument. The LinnDrum has 15 sounds, 12 can be used simultaneously. The sounds can be changed by replacing EPROM by EPROM containing the new sounds.
The snare and bass drum of LinnDrum is used by Daft Punk on many of their songs.
